The New Blanket

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. [2 Corinthians 5:17 ]

I had this biblical concept of faith for a while and was inspired by faith to illustrate another way of looking at the bible scriptures:

What if all our “wrong doings”and “wrong thinking” was displayed on a piece of blanket that was given to us when we were born? And that this blanket that was given to us was originally purely clean, soft and perfect. However, as life goes on, this blanket gets torn along the way for every mistakes we make, gets dirtier for every wrong thought we think of, and rougher as we do something greedy or selfish? What if at the end of this earthly life, the only approved blanket that can get through the heavens gate is that original purely clean, soft and perfect blanket you originally owned? And I am thinking, it is absolutely impossible to go through life without making a single mistake and without getting a single speck of rip or torn in that blanket. So it's impossible to get to heaven with the dirty ripped up blanket we have. But what if I told you that God knew this and so He devised a plan. Instead of letting all of His creations die with the punishment of death from the dirty blanket, He decided to trade His own perfect clean blanket with every single person's dirty blanket on earth by becoming human Himself, taking every ripped, stinky blanket from them and taking the punishment (the cross) for the dirty blankets for them instead. At the same time He gives them His own perfect blanket to them (if they are willing to receive it) so that they can have a chance to go to heaven. Some might not believe in that this pure clean “blanket” that was given to them for free will save them, so they will reject it and keep their own blanket. For those who do believe the pure blanket will save them, and receive the blanket, they will be reborn as new creation through the One who gave their blanket to them. 

Let go of your dirty blanket (let go of your old selfish and sinful ways) and Let God give you His, for the life He wants to give you through that "blanket" is a very beautiful and brighter worthy one.
